About

The ESSKA-EKA International Robotics Fellowship is a 2 consecutive week programme which aims at contributing to the development of established orthopaedic surgeons wanting to improve their surgical skills and learn about robotic technology. There are two positions available.

The fellows:

* spend two consecutive weeks at an ESSKA Accredited teaching Centre where robotic partial and total knee arthroplasty are performed in an adequate volume.
ESSKA Teaching Centres: Hygeia Hospital of Athens (Athens, Greece) - Dr Dretakis, & Cankaya Orthopaedics (Ankara, Turkey) - Prof. Tandogan.
* learn the essentials of pre-op planning, implementation of different alignment philosophies with robotics, robotic bone cuts, soft tissue balancing and post-operative care.
* take part in the grand rounds, case discussions and observe robotic arthroplasty surgeries in the OR.
* may scrub-in surgery at the discretion of the surgeon and will have an opportunity for one-on-one interaction with expert robotic arthroplasty surgeons.

The fellowship can be undertaken between July-December 2025 and covers travel, accommodation, meals and minor expenses. The exact dates will be determined in coordination with the fellows and participating centers.
