Description
Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries are common among individuals over 40 years old and often necessitate surgical intervention. Recent advancements in synthetic ligament technology have shown promise in improving outcomes in ACL reconstruction procedures. This preliminary study aims to evaluate the safety and the efficacy of a new generation of synthetic ligaments in ACL reconstruction, employing a double-blinded design. Forty patients aged 40 years and older, diagnosed with ACL injuries, were enrolled in this study. They were randomly assigned to one of two groups: Group A received ACL reconstruction using the new generation synthetic ligament, while Group B received a old aclLARS ligament. The study was conducted in a double-blinded manner, with both patients and assessors unaware of the type of graft used.
