The Effect of Primary ACL Reconstruction on Career Longevity in English Premier League and Championship Soccer Players Compared to Uninjured Controls: A Matched Cohort Analysis 

Professional male soccer players who underwent ACLR had shorter career length by 1.6 years compared to a matched player cohort. A contralateral ACL injury increased the likelihood of retirement by 2.3 times as compared to athletes with a single knee ACLR.
