Sonographic characterization of the pericruciate fat pad

Description

This ePoster presents our study "Sonographic characterization of the pericruciate fat pad (PCFP) with the use of compression sonoelastography - a case-control study among healthy and post-injured patients". Our study describes novel findings indicating that following knee trauma or surgery, the pericruciate fat pad experiences a significant increase in echogenicity and a concurrent decrease in elasticity. These changes suggest a potential association with fat pad fibrosis, which could hold diagnostic and monitoring value for knee pathologies.
