Description
This ePoster presents a prospective assessment of clinical and functional outcomes following Medial Patellofemoral Ligament (MPFL) reconstruction for patellar instability. The study enrolled 39 patients and assessed their condition using the KOOS and Kujala scales, as well as knee isokinetic muscle strength and endurance measurements preop and 12 months after surgery. Results indicate significant improvements in clinical outcomes post-surgery, including increased muscle strength and endurance. However, functional outcomes, particularly regarding quadriceps muscle function, may not be entirely satisfactory even after 12 months. The ePoster suggests that decisions regarding a return to sports should consider both clinical and functional assessments, emphasizing the importance of biomechanical evaluations.
