The ESSKA All about Ankle and Hindfoot Sports Injuries Course is designed to provide foot and ankle orthopaedic surgeons involved in the field of sports traumatology with didactic and practical training in the management of ankle and hindfoot sports injuries from the renowned ESSKA faculty using state of the art surgical facilities. Course Objectives

 ESSKA ALL about Ankle and Hindfoot Sports Injuries
 

The field of ankle and hindfoot sports injuries is constantly evolving in terms of both understanding of the pathology and therapeutic solutions, particularly in light of the developing and increasing role of new arthroscopic solutions for ligament and tendon pathology in the ankle and surrounding structures.


The course is designed to provide participants of varying levels of expertise with the most up-to-date evidence on the management of ankle and hindfoot sports injuries, as well as hands-on instruction in surgical techniques from ESSKA faculty with recognised experience in the field. Participants will benefit from a state-of-the-art wet lab at the ICLO Verona centre with 12 fully equipped stations, 1 for every 2 participants.

- Acute and Chronic Ankle ligaments injuries: Lateral, Medial and Syndesmosis

- Anterior and posterior Ankle impingement syndromes

- Osteochondral lesions of the ankle

- Achilles tendon and peroneal tendons disorders

- Vth metatarsal fracture and Lisfranc injuries

Each topic will be covered through a comprehensive combination of theoretical lectures, surgical video demonstrations by the faculty and supervised hands-on training by the participants.
