Treatment of patellar tendon ruptures in Total Knee Arthroplasty

This  video describes 3 different techniques for patellar tendon repair/reconstruction in patients with total knee arthroplasty.

1. Primary repair & augmentation with  semitendinosus and gracilis tendon autografts
2. Extensor mechanism reconstruction with allograft Achilles tendon (with bone block) in a patient with a resurfaced patella
3. Extensor mechanism reconstruction with allograft Achilles tendon (with bone block) in a patient without patella resurfacing
